PUTRAJAYA:: Putrajaya will see the unveiling of a new hotel at the end of this year under ‘The Everly’ brand with the signing of the management agreement between Indah Putrajaya Sdn Bhd (Indah Putrajaya), a wholly-owned subsidiary of Putrajaya Holdings Sdn Bhd (Putrajaya Holdings), and Value Hospitality Ltd last Tuesday.

At the signing ceremony, Indah Putrajaya was represented by the chief executive officer of Putrajaya Holdings, Datuk Azlan Abdul Karim, while Value Hospitality was represented by its managing director, Dennis Tan.

“Putrajaya Holdings is fulfilling a need for a business hotel in Putrajaya that will cater to the business needs of the population as well as tourists to the city.”

“We are building a 3-star hotel with 4-star facility, that is a chic stay-away from home and yet provides a luxurious lifestyle that is affordable and practical,” said Azlan at the signing ceremony.

He added that the hotel would further enhance the vibrancy of Putrajaya especially within the Alamanda Shopping Centre area.

“The planning, design and build surrounding the area has demanded that we work closely with the local council as well as other authorities to ensure that the hotel and office development achieves the Green Building Index ‘certified’ rating upon its completion,” he outlined.

“This development shall be the second development in 2012 to be rated as a green building in line with Putrajaya Holdings’ commitment to transform the built environment by reducing negative environmental impact through sustainable green building design and practices,” he went on.

“We are delighted with the progress that has been made on site so far and the soft launching is planned in November 2012.”

Meanwhile, Value Hospitality Group’s Tan said it was truly pleasing to be managing the property especially since it has been involved in the design and construction of the hotel from the very beginning.

“In fact, we are also delighted to have saved in excess of RM5 million in construction costs for the owner prior to opening.”

“With its strategic location in the administrative city and comprehensive and modern infrastructure, The Everly Putrajaya has the potential of becoming a significant businessman’s hotel and meeting and seminars venue in Putrajaya,” he pointed out.

With its model garden city reputation and steady efforts to promote Putrajaya as a tourist destination, Tan said the group also expected to see a rise in local and foreign tourists’ arrivals which would augur well for an international class hotel like the Everly.

Strategically located in Precint 1, The Everly Putrajaya is connected to Alamanda Shopping Centre, the main shopping and leisure attraction in Putrajaya.

Once completed, The Everly will be part of a larger mixed development comprising retail, hotel and office blocks at Precint 1. The hotel boasts 383 guest rooms, 1,000-seats banquet hall, eight meeting rooms, coffee house, Cafe Lounge, swimming pool as well as Executive and Air Crew Lounges.

With the signing, VH would have the right to manage and operate the hotel for 10 years with an option for further extension.

Established in 1990, the Value Hospitality Group currently manages five hotels in the nation including the Everly range and Prescott range. Over 350 professionals are employed in all properties under its management.

Currently the other properties managed by Value Hospitality include ParkCity Everly Hotel Bintulu, ParkCity Everly Hotel Miri, Prescott Hotel Klang, Prescott Inn Kuala Lumpur in Medan Tuanku and Prescott Metro Inn, Kajang.
